Through mortality rates decreasing, medicine improving and methods of industrial farming being introduced. We now live longer, healthier lives. However, this has caused the overall population to increase, raising the demand for food and other resources. To combat this issue, farmers have started clearing acres upon acres of natural habitats to create farmland. Some farmers will also burn stubble after the harvest of their crops, releasing large amounts of smoke and pollution into the atmosphere. This further damages the environment. Large rural areas are also destroyed to create more urban environments. Ridding animals of their natural homes, placing them in unfamiliar and dangerous new environments. Factories also release waste into freshwater sources, meaning animals that drink water in the areas that are affected, may become unwell and even lose their lives.
